He then received additional training by completing a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Baylor College of Medicine in the heart of Houston, Texas. Working within the Texas Medical Center, regarded as the largest medical center in the world, Dr. Fan worked with distinguished orthopedic and plastic surgeons in the treatment of upper extremity conditions including upper extremity arthritis, reconstructive microsurgery, replantation, and cancers of bone, soft tissue, and skin.
His clinical and research interests focus on complex upper extremity pathology and fractures, including brachial plexus injuries, microvascular surgery, congenital pediatric conditions, and traumatic elbow fracture dislocation surgery, shoulder instability, and rotator cuff injuries.
He also has a particular interest in the management of all forms of arthritis, joint and cartilage preservation, sports injuries, ankle and foot problems, and compressive neuropathies, such as carpal tunnel syndrome and cubital tunnel syndrome.
His focus is to provide tailored and specific treatments for each individual patient with the goal of maximizing quality of life and improving functional outcomes for all orthopedic and soft tissue problems.
